The game was more frustrating than fun and the reason being: - grinding excessively - crafting new weapons and building your base to the max could of been fun if it was easier to find specific items and not just have things randomly drop from enemies or chest/breakable object.- The map rearranges itself everytime you die or quit the game. - This game needed a simple castlevania back dash to avoid enemy attack but instead your given a foward dash which only helps you progress faster through the room.- most of the main and side mission were about finding items, certain mssion also required me to find blueprints and upgrade.- Certain doors/shaft are locked which require a key to open them but if you die the map rearranges itself, forcing you to find the key again. Its been a awhile since I encounter a game that truly♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥me off, I should of stopped playing after 2 hours but I gave it too much of a chance.. like dark souls. great game for a cheap price, after dying a few times you will know how to survive the night :#. this game is trying WAY too hard to do everything, but it can't do anything right. Okay, it took me about an hour to understand the concept of this game. First of all, it's in the style of "Castlevania-whatever else games" in that style you know, etc. Secondly and the most important part of this game is that it's actually based around you dying. Follow me on this:You're a toy named Brand and every night you come alive and have to fight other toys that are the "Lost Ones" meaning that they don't have an owner anymore, also every night the house changes randomly, heavily RNG based, for example you could find a slot machine in the first room in the first night and it wouldn't be there in the second night, etc. While the RNG mechanic seems lackluster due to enemies actually happening to get stuck between the RNG'd beams that don't allow them to jump or move anymore, it's actually helpful to you. You have only 6 inventory slots and when you die any cash (nuts) you have and whatever items you grabbed from the other toys to fill those 6 slots are put into your room.In your room you can craft new weapons if you RNG-find the blueprint or heavily fortify the room with the cash and materials you got from other toys. It's like that one movie with Tom Cruise. I'm totally digging it.. I had high hopes for this game, but I fell victim to the same problem that most of the other people that disliked the game fell into. The games is 95% RNG which for a game that requires so much crafting makes it very hard to do early game because you cannot get what you need without being extremely lucky. If you can't get a weapon upgrade early in the experience then it is kind of a bummer and is really hard to progress. A pro of the game which is actually a con is the amount of stuff that you can craft if you get the blueprints for it. But, since you don't know what blueprint you will get or even when you will get it the number weapons stops you from getting a blueprint you actually want.It is hard to get resources due to RNG and it is hard to acquire the currency with a bad weapon. Even though this game gives you more health than most metrovaina games you are almost guaranteed to lose some of it to every enemy you encounter depending on if they had high health themself or were in a spot you had to take damage to hit them or if there was just a lot that spawn at once. The game also has no system to allow you to not take damage like rolling or blocking which means you are more likely to take damage for no good reason other than being in the wrong spot at the wrong time.Going along with resources being hard to get is the fact that you would often lose resources due to raidings from the enemy which can be *prevented* by upgrading defenses at you base. This causes you to lose some of your resouces that could be really hard to get anyways. Another annoying thing about the basebuild was that there was a build time for some reason. You could not reenter the base after leaving so you would either have to wait out the timer so you can manage the building that is built or you had to manage it the next night which loses you time.. Positive:-Great 2.5D graphic.-Good story.-Generate new map everytime.-My enemies: cockroacher, rat (just kidding).-Those characters look awesome.-Soundtrack is okay, not bad.-Crafting & equipment system is awesome, you can farm items or blueprint everytime for stronger.-Character Voice is a thing i love this game, it can show you Brand is a very funny and honest guy.Negative:-Controller have big issue.-Game instruction runs very fast and it have no Helping Tips for review previous instructions.. I would have to say that after playing this game for quite awhile it is pretty interesting and fun. I've seen only some of the story behind it; however it actually intrigues me when it comes to the diary pages that are randomly scattered across the house. When it came to the overall controls especially on keyboard, it was pretty simple. The only bad thing about it was how laggy it could get on the menus, but it could just be my computer. Now for the important part, the gameplay was quite fun (especially in the later bits of the game where you can triple jump and etc...).It is like a rogue-dungeon crawler, but you progress with it trying to protect a bedroom base; however it starts off very very slow paced (And the combat doesn't really change from spamming that primary weapon) . It's almost impossible not to hate the game for a little while due to how grindy it can get and how weak you start off. Not to mention the need to gather blueprints for weapons and important key factors that make youj survive the night. Even if it is a rogue like game, it takes quite an odd approach to it by ending every night with a chance of you to lose some important materials quite often ( you can build your way to defend the base and suc; however to a new player it's very difficult to build it and also want to upgrade your character, then again, you lose random junk most of the time). Not only do you lose quite a bit of progress, it's very difficult to actually make progress with how quickly the difficult ramps up the further you adventureAnnother thing to add is that the quests within the game are also super grindy that it takes multiple runs in order to complete them most of the time ( but you do get quite a load of rewards for completing them, and half the time you will already have completed them). As for the loot in the game, it's very minimum to blueprints ( minor accesories and etc.) and random materials that only get sorted in a basic 6 slotted backpack....and half the time you can't take everything and it becomes a loot hoarding adventure, meanwhile again your base is being ransacked anyways, nulifying your progress sometimes.I can't say that this game is for everyone, it is very addictive and fun; however it is very grindy and slightly the same from what I am seeing as the game progresses, the enemies are exactly the same ( not all the same, but may have the same attacks or features to them and in the certain areas); yet they can harm you in sooo many ways that you can barely go into a fight without getting a scratch since there is no exact dodge or block mechanic from what i have seen, but yeah, so far this game is slightly mehhhh.Overall though.. I do love the game despite it's flaws and issues, but i do have to say that i don't really know whether to recommend this game unless you really want to experience the story and a very grindy game that it offers. I won't say that you shouldn't not want the game because overall it's fun!. This was an awesome piece of roguelike awesomeness!it's quite challanging, so if you consider playing this you might want to grab some paper towels for your tears.Over all the universe of this game is what got me most of the time (besides my tears).it's beautifully made, as already mentioned: challanging with chunks of hope for success.
